Decarbonisation of Vehicle Fleet

As part of its Climate Action Plan, LB Merton has made a commitment to decarbonise the Council’s vehicle fleet (including the waste collection fleet) by 2030. A Decarbonisation Strategy for the Council’s vehicle fleet has now been developed. This work has encompassed the council’s operational fleet and vehicles employed by key procured services such as recycling and waste collection. This report seeks Cabinet approval for the identified approach to the Fleet Decarbonisation Strategy, including procurement of replacement vehicles and preparation for capital works for the infrastructure required.
