To manage motorised traffic, there are bollards installed in some key places like Byegrove Road and All Saints Road. However -
Motorbikes are able to drive between the bollards freely, causing residential roads to become dangerous.
The issue is particularly serious on Byegrove Road, where the north gate to Wandle Park is. There is no pavement on either side of the gates, so people, many of which young families with children, have to step directly onto the road where motorbikes are often speeding.
Rather than being local residents, most of the motorbikes that we see are food delivery riders from companies like Deliver and Uber Eats. Sadly, they are incentivised to make deliveries as fast as possible, meaning that many of them are speeding while looking at their mobile devices for directions and instructions.
We would like the Council to take the issue with motorbikes traffic seriously and take the necessary measures URGENTLY to prevent unfortunate accidents.
