With both a Nursery and Pre-School within Colliers Wood Recreation Ground, the lack of lighting within the grounds in the winter months is unsafe. Parents have no choice but to take certain routes within the Rec after dark to collect their children, and currently certain parts of the park are completely pitch black. Given the recent series of crimes affecting children in the area, local parents are asking for the council to help keep our children safe by proving lighting within with park between the hours of 4.30pm and 6.30pm, by which time all children and school/nursery staff will be safely home.
