Merton Council's Design Review Panel comprises a group of independent professionals working in the field of the built environment.  The Panel advises the council on design issues in relation to important new development schemes and proposals for important public spaces, including both major planning applications and pre-application development proposals.

The Panel mostly reviews development proposals at a pre-application stage which, in line with council practice for planning applications, is not done in public.  Where proposals that are subject of a full planning application are reviewed, and thus in the public domain, the meeting is recorded and uploaded to the council YouTube channel for public viewing. Therefore there is no public access to view live Design Review Panel meetings.
