There were no apologies for absence. Councillors Fairclough, Galea and Stringer attended remotely.

There were no declarations of interest.

The minutes of the meeting held on 8 May 2024 were agreed as an accurate record.

The Executive Director Finance & Digital presented the report and gave an overview of the post, noting this has arisen from a restructure earlier in the year with more focus on digital and IT delivery.  There had been lots of foundational work which was beginning to have success and the intention would now be to recruit to the post on a permanent basis rather than the current fixed term contract.

In response to questions from the Committee, the Executive Director Finance & Digital advised that the issue of cyber security was critical and that would be explored with candidates through the interview process.  The role was already in existence and was therefore within the existing financial envelope. The Executive Director advised that the vast majority of London Boroughs were part of LOTI and there was collaboration across that between the 33 Boroughs to learn from best practice.

RESOLVED:

A. That the Appointments Committee recommended that Full Council agrees to the salary package for the Director of Digital Innovation role outlined in section 2 below in accordance with the Council’s Pay Policy Statement.

B. That the Appointments Committee delegated to the Executive Director of Finance & Digital, in consultation with the Chair of the Appointments Committee, the authority to amend the Job Description for the post, where those amendments will not lead to a change of salary range.

C. That the Appointments Committee delegated the implementation of the recruitment process for the Director of Digital Innovation post to the Executive Director of Finance and Digital in consultation with the Chair of the Appointments Committee.
