Purpose:

1. ANPR cameras
provision and implementation of:
18 ANPR cameras for school streets enforcement, via approved CIL funding in year 1 of the contract.
53 replacement ANPR cameras to replace the existing Tyco supported cameras in 2025 subject to a further business case.
Provision within the terms of the contract to purchase additional ANPR cameras for MTC or other environmental purposes.
Provision of software and other associated technologies for the processing of PCNs and relevant data


2. Public CCTV Upgrade and Maintenance
CCTV camera upgrade – upgrading of 150 CCTV public space cameras from analogue to HD quality. Upgrading the transmission method by introducing a hybrid fibre-wireless solution that will greatly reduce the dependence on BT and Virgin Media fibre.

3. CCTV maintenance contract for public space and ANPR
providing preventative maintenance, cleaning and repairs on council’s public space and ANPR cameras

Decision:

RESOLVED:

A. That Cabinet approved the award of a contract for CCTV and ANPR upgrade including maintenance to the successful bidder identified in Appendix 1 for a term of four years with the option to extend for a further 12 or 24 months.

B. That Cabinet delegated authority to exercise the option to extend this contract to the Director of Environment and Regeneration.
